A good yoga teacher must possess a certain set of skills. Some are gained by completing a teacher training course with experienced guides, some qualities are acquired through constant practice and some come with experience. But at the roots of it all stands one’s personal practice. Only after walking the path one can teach the path.
We designed our course in a way that one develops understanding through personal experience. More than 100 hours of the course are dedicated to asanas, while another 50 hours focus on meditation and pranayama. That leaves us with 50 hours for philosophy, anatomy, ethics & business management.
In the asana module we cover primary and some intermediate series postures; studying the alignment, adjustments, theory, verbal cueing and methodology of each asana. You will spend most of the class hours practicing asanas and hands on adjustments.
Pranayama block covers various breathing techniques and their health benefits. By the end of the course, you will establish a strong daily pranayama routine and will learn how to create pranayama sequences for various health related issues.
The meditation segment covers 10 essential meditating techniques, also concentrating on fundamentals and benefits of daily practice. A big chunk of the practice is dedicated to transcendental meditation, its purpose and method. You will learn what are mudras and their implementation in practice, also you will learn how to create and lead a yoga nidra class.
Philosophy block includes:
• Yoga Sutras of Patanjali
• Bhagavad Gita
• Yoga Makaranda of Sri Tirumalai Krishnamacharya
• Yoga Mala of P.Jois
• The foundation of Indian yoga philosophy relevant to teaching and practicing
We are doing our best to adjust to the current circumstances and adopt online education, yet there are certain things we believe must only be taught “offline”. Keeping this in mind we have established the following schedule:
